# Tax help without the runaround

Built for people who work hard.

TaxTruce helps people who are behind on taxes find real help, without the runaround. Lots of us get paid on a 1099, run a small shop, or hit a rough year. A tax bill grows fast, and the letters get scary.

We built TaxTruce to fix the first step. You answer a few plain questions. We confirm your phone so only real firms reach you. Then a tax firm with a CPA, enrolled agent or tax attorney looks at your situation and calls you back.

## What we believe

* Plain words, always.
* Real sources. Every fact on this site links to where it came from.
* No fake reviews, no fake awards, no promises about results.
* You are in charge. Say stop and it stops.

## Who we are

TaxTruce is a free matching and education service. We are not the IRS or any government agency, and we are not a law firm or accounting firm. We send your request to the tax resolution firms TaxTruce works with in all 50 states. Read [how it works](/how-it-works) for the full picture.
